THE ROLE OF NEUTROPHILS IN THE GENESIS OF TUMOR DISEASES
Abstract
The goal was to study the characteristics of anti-tumor activity of blood neutrophils chemiluminescence in patients with multiple myeloma-G variants depending on the stage of the disease. We examined 101 patients with multiple myeloma G-immunochemical variant, between the ages of 40 to 76 years and 125 healthy volunteers. Patients were divided into stages according to classification Durie, Salmon (1975). The study was conducted by chemiluminescence analysis of spontaneous and induced production of reactive oxygen by neutrophils. Patients at stage II had significantly raised the chemiluminescent indicators of the neutrophils activity, both in spontaneous and induced chemiluminescence: the intensity of the chemiluminescent activity of neutrophils, area under the curve, and the index of activation compared to the control group. In stage III disease spontaneous chemiluminescence intensity was higher than that at the II stage of the disease and the intensity of induced chemiluminescence was reduced in comparison with stage II disease. Thus, the modification transformation of neutrophils leading to the rapid progression of the disease was occurred at stage III of multiple myeloma.
