The effect of magnesium source of MgB2 superconductors on their structural and electrical properties have been studied in detail. Samples were prepared using conventional method known as solid-state reaction (SS) technique with two different magnesium source. 2.3% carbon-coated nano-boron has been preferred instead of high-purity boron as boron source. The fabricated samples were then characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), electron dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) and resistivity vs. temperature (p-T). In this study, we have focused on electrical measurements to investigate the effect of magnesium source on the electrical properties of bulk samples. The critical superconducting transition temperature, grain size, phase purity, surface morphology and resistivity values of the prepared bulk samples are compared with each other.
