«The death of Mr. Lazarescu» /«Moartea domnului Lazarescu» (2005): Efects of the economic recession in the health systeme

Abstract

The death of Mr. Lazarescu aims to show the effects of the crisis in a dehumanized health system in which doctors and nurses must care for a patient polysymptomatic fragile, elderly who attends four emergency services in a period of seven hours . The patient, his health problems, treatments and care delivered by doctors and nurses is described. Professional attitudes and some oral statements are analyzed; furthermore aspects of reality related to the film are discussed. Finally, we reflect on the parallelism between fiction and the current crisis in our health care system.
