This study is the result of an investigation carried out with graduates in physical education who work in various sectors of work in this area of knowledge. The general objective of this research was to find out if the precariousness of work in physical education tends to distance teachers from sectors related to the school pedagogical field. The investigation was justified from the transformations that occurred in physical education and in the world of work, in which changes in theteaching status, in the relationship between society and physical education are perceived, as well as, a precariousness of work in all sectors of this area of education. knowledge. The study was carried out through a field research, carried out with 15 graduates in physical education who work in the municipality of Iguatu -Ce. The instrument used in the data collection was the semi-structured interview, the dialectical historical method was used for data analysis, as it is understood that it makes it possible to see the investigated phenomenon deeper, trying to discover what is behind the appearances of the object under study. In the findings, it was noticed in general, that the graduates are looking for work sectors outside the school context for reasons associated with better salaries and affinity with the health-fitness field. It was found that the majority of teachers tend to choose the school as a preferable place of work solely due to factors related to financial stability.
