This work’s main objective is to present the experiences carried out by four teachers at The University of the Basque country in order to incorporate the service learning method in three different scopes: teachers’ innovation, higher education teachers training, and research. Understanding this method could be an opportunity to put together some of the changes the University will have to implement in order to face its current challenges. Being this method so recently discovered, it is briefly explained and its key components and the potentialities that could bring to Higher Education are described. Besides, the experiences in the three previously mentioned scopes are outlined.
