Carthage, rue Ibn Chabâat (« quartier Didon ») : le développement urbanistique de la période punique ancienne à la période punique tardive
Abstract
Research of the German Archaeological Institute in Rome (DAI) and the Tunisian Institut National du Patrimoine (INP) south of the Rue Ibn Chabâat at Carthage revealed evidence for three different phases of an Early Punic living quarter. House construction cannot be dated before the middle of the 8th century BC. During the 5th century BC the urban landscape saw a complete change with all previous private buildings being replaced by two public buildings and an adjacent square. Public use continued into the Late Punic period.
