Le rôle des TIC pour et dans le développement touristique des zones de montagne : un levier pour articuler durée et durabilité ?
Abstract
This paper deals with the way ICTs are likely to be used by local actors both for the durable development of tourism and the development of sustainable tourism. This analysis is based on the case of the Valley of Maurienne (Alps, France) which has been studied in the frame of a research project with France Telecom R&D department. In order to reconcile the globalized and demanding market (winter resorts), natural and human heritage (the mountain environment) and “territorial welfare” of inhabitants (“to live and to work at home”), the local and socio-economic actors of the valley were involved in the implementation of services. These services corresponded to to diversified uses’ and users’ fields yet they are not really connected. Instead these spheres are schematically related to two main purposes: on the one hand syndication of resources and on the other hand identity construction. In both cases the existence of a well strengthened and shared territorial project seems to be a necessary but non sufficient condition for using ICT in a sustainable development perspective.
