Abstract

The research discusses the problematic concept of the concept of religion in Islamic thought. The researcher extrapolates the definitions of religion, presents models for study and analysis, and then devises a comprehensive academic scientific definition that corresponds to the field of study of religions to which the researcher belongs. One of the most important findings of the researcher is that religion has two definitions: private and general. The specific definition pertains to general Islam according to the Islamic reference, while the general definition is the academic scientific definition that includes all religions.
