Ritualità in O Thiasos TeatroNatura
Abstract
The article analyzes the relationship between ritual and theater through the work of the O Thiasos TeatroNatura company. In the group's numerous and varied productions, the aspects of repetition and the connection with natural environments are the foundational elements that create "para-ritual" forms. In these creations every element of the performative creation (text, song, performers, spectators) is aimed at re-creating the relationship between human-reality-community. The resonance with ritual does not stem from New Age trends but emerges through theatrical structures that are carefully crafted by the artistic quality of the act. This practice follows an ecology of the mind that influences the aesthetics-ethics of TeatroNatura, preparing its actresses, through technique, for interaction with places. In this exploration, the ritual element is also represented by the mythical repertoire reworked by the company. In this way, the archetypal and the contemporary meet in a dislocated and repeated in the landscape since 1992.
