The composition of hydrotalcite-calcined derivatives doped by Zinc was optimized by uniform design. This derivatives further modified by KI nucleophile promoted the catalytic performance in terms of activity, selectivity and stability. N,N-dimethylformamide was proved to be the best solvent for the cycloaddition through molecular simulation. The results of characterization showed that KI-modified derivatives had hydrotalcite phase and ZnO phase, and the elements with catalytic activity were uniformly dispersed. The specific surface area of the derivatives was greatly increased after proper calcination, and it's positively correlated with the cycloaddition activity. The derivatives had acidic-basic properties, and the catalytic mechanism was proposed accordingly.
