To wonder about the oddness of the migratory projects of Portuguese people that migrated to France between 1955-1975 and the respective inflections, with the elapsing of time, permits to understand the large importance of the ‘ages’ of emigration and schooling of the parents, when it is about investing in school courses of the children and understand the factors of (un)success that are associated to them. However, the construction of school profiles of the young Portuguese in France changes according to the ‘ages’ of emigration, the fact of being or not born in France, or being born of mixed couples and the investment of parents and children in an ethics of effort, trying to get the so much coveted school success. In this work, the authors discuss the reasons that are on the basis of these attitudes and behaviors and analyze these particularities from the point of view of the sociology of international migrations, of education, of educational mobilization strategies and propositions of the dynamic sociology arguing.
