Художественная трансформация и актуализация имён прилагательных в тексте (на материале романа В. Набокова Лолита)
Abstract
Artistic transformation and actualization of adjectives in the text (based on V. Nabokov’s novel Lolita) The paper reveals the artistic and figurative potential of adjectives as units of lexical and grammatical language system units in the text of V. Nabokov’s novel Lolita. Intertwining with the narration, attributive lexemes contribute to “narration visualization”, creation of visual and pictorial artistic reality distinguished by the richness of colors and signs (artistic and figurative function): they are used for creating the characters’ portraits and reflection of their psychological condition and for description of the environmental conditions and detailing the objects’ world (characterizing function): they participate in formation of text category of subjective modality, organization of space and time continuum, and construction of main semantic oppositions of text and creation of its figurative perspective. Specificity of individual and author’s representation of adjectives is considered from the point of view of their artistic transformation (expanded semantic word structure, combination of several lexeme’s meanings at a sole use of word, change of a word’s lexical and grammatical characteristic) and actualization methods in the text (non-standard use, concentration of adjectives in attributive rows, text or image advancement on the dominant role, use of the language potentialities).
