METABOLIC SYNDROME X - PANDEMIC OF THE XXI CENTURY

Abstract

A survey of data found in scientific articles including the main points, structure, spreading and social importance of metabolic syndrome X as a real predictor of mortality level are presented. The genetic mechanism of insulin resistance and arterial hypertension are revealed. The role of obesity in metabolic syndrome’s forming is discussed.
