A ‘comunidade académica’ como um conceito errático
Abstract
This paper focuses on the relationship between the concept of ‘academic community’ and the context of the transformations of the modes of knowledge production. In the first and second section we will propose an operational definition of ‘academic community’ and discuss the relationship between this definition and the transformation of the modes of knowledge production – Mode-1 and Mode-2. Thirdly, we will focus on the discourse of three key-actors in the context of the Portuguese academy. It will be argued that the concept of ‘academic community’ emerges as ‘fuzzy’ one, remaining unclear ‘who’ is the ‘academic’ or by ‘whom’ is constituted the ‘academic community’, and that we are witnessing the reconfiguration of the concept of ‘academic community’ as knowledge is being recomposed
