Decorated chitosan with silver-zinc nanoparticles by pulse laser ablation
Abstract
The chitosan/Ag/Zn nanocomposites were synthesized in an environmentally friendly and inexpensive method using pulsed laser ablation in liquids, an Nd-YAG laser with a wavelength of 1064 nm, 300 mJ/pls, and 1000 pulses for silver plate, and 500 mJ/pls with the same wavelength for zinc plate. The UV–vis absorbance and estimated optical properties, FESEM and FTIR, show that the Ag/Zn nanoparticles were successfully decorated with a chitosan chain. The nanocomposite promised to be used as an antibiotic.
