Limitações do modelo de potência crítica aplicado a exercício intermitente - DOI: 10.4025/reveducfis.v20i2.2890
Abstract
The purpose of the present study was to test the equivalence between PC and CTA estimates obtained in continuous (PC¬c e CTAc) and intermittent trials (PCi e CTAi). Ten male subjects performed: two practice trials, four continuous predictive trials and four intermittent predictive trials. The PCc (151 ± 30 W) was significantly higher than PCi (136 ± 20 W) (P < 0.05) and the CTAc (23911 ± 3135 J) was lower than CTAi (28850 ± 8549 J) (P < 0.05), with high correlations between them (r = 0.80 and 0.74). Therefore, the intermittent critical power model does not provide valid estimates of PCi e CTAi, considering that these parameters were different than the continuous ones.
