The need for Understanding the Meaning of Adult Education

Abstract

one of the reasons of the failing of adult education is that its definition is not clear, or precise. As a matter of fact the people who work in the field of adult education prefer the scientific approach when they are trying to define the adult education. Adult education is the pieces out of which the whole is made of the two approaches-scientific or administrative. We can define adult we define .Adult education according to our purpose we have to take one of the two approaches-scientific or administrative. We can define adult education as all the activities with an educational purpose that are carried on by experienced people in this field. Adult education may be dealt with in term of the isntitutions under whose auspices it is offered or in terms of the subject matter or it may be considered in terms of the skills which the students want to learn. Adult education can be defined according to the relation between the community and adults as"" all social programs which meet the great variety of needs of adult through the offerings of many different community institutions. Also adult education can be defined according to adult experience as "constant expansion of experience in desirable directions As a matter of fact adult education is considered as a fourth kind of education in developing country. The writer concluded his article by asking all the organizations which are responsible for adult education in the Arab world to come forward with their proposal for the necessity of defining the adult education.
