Dimensions of poetic experience in the poetry of Adnan Al-Sayegh
Abstract
The term poetic experience is new in modern Arab criticism, although its content is known in our ancient criticism. Critics have unanimously agreed that experience in life is the basis for poetic experience, and they have also agreed that the source of successful experience is the soul when it interacts with an event, and the poet formulates it in the form of a poem, through language, image and rhythm. His poems are an addition and uniqueness to the Iraqi and Arab poetic experience, in an atmosphere charged with nostalgia, love and freedom. Al-Sayegh's poems, which do not stop at the signs of a dream, revolve around glowing to ascend unfamiliar horizons.
