The article examines the theoretical constructions of representatives of the Socialist revolutionary Party on military issues in a socio-political context and practical steps in the ranks of the army during the period of political reaction. The views and activities of socialist revolutionaries are also studied taking into account the party experience gained during the First Russian Revolution and the trends in the development of the national revolutionary movement as a whole. The army riots of 1906-07 were revealed through an analysis of the influence of socialist revolutionaries in the ranks of the armed forces and the peculiarities of the perception of protest and left-wing radical ideas by the military community at the beginning of the twentieth century. The peculiarities of the attitude of the command staff and lower ranks to political propaganda and socialist doctrine are shown. Attention is also drawn to the change in the socio-political appearance of the national army as a result of the modernization processes of the early twentieth century and their impact on the involvement of professional servicemen in the socio-political confrontations of that era is assessed. The influence of the events and processes of the First Russian Revolution on the party's assessment of the role and place of the military component in the fight against tsarism is analyzed. The differences in the views of representatives of the Socialist revolutionary Party on the methods and means of campaigning among soldiers and officers are analyzed, taking into account the experience of revolutionary activity. Party propaganda and theoretical materials are revealed for compliance or departure from the traditional attitudes of the national liberation movement. The practical steps of the socialist revolutionaries to attract the military to their side on the eve of the First World War are outlined, revealing the growing crisis phenomena in the party.
