Expanding the vision of indicators for projects: focus on virtual teams
Abstract
It is true that globalization makes the market increasingly competitive and requires companies to have effective management. In this scenario, project management helps companies achieve their strategies regarding the demands of the 21st century. The indicators help stakeholders assess whether the projects are being executed as planned and, when required, support the decisions by project manager to correct their direction. The main objective of this study is to identify key indicators of projects using virtual teams. The methodological strategy adopted was a case study at an international consulting firm. A questionnaire composed of a set of project indicators discussed in the literature was given to 19 persons responsible for projects. From the statistical analysis of the data obtained, the most relevant indicators used to assess this type of project are the traditional cost, schedule and scope, plus some that take into account the client’s vision and others related to human aspects and to the communication project team.
