In May, 1940 the Adjudant-General was requested to take steps to gazette the South African Army Postal Corps, but for some reason this action was never taken and confusion resulted ever after, the Corps being referred to as S.A. Army Postal Corps, SA. Army Postal Services or G.S.C. (S.A.A.P.C.) with sundry variations.
