ASPECTS IN THE RESEARCH OF THE PHENOMENON RELATED TO PERFORMING TRADITIONAL VOCAL CREATIONS IN THE CONTEMPORARY STAGE CONTEXT: COLINDA AND DOINA

Abstract

This article aims at highlighting issues related to performing vocal folk creations in the context of public spectacle. The importance of investigating these issues is determined by several factors, among which: lack of studies that substantiate the processes and transformations that occur when transposing traditional vocal creations into the context of a contemporary public performance; as well as the current both at national and international level policy linked to the protection and safeguarding of the intangible cultural heritage. The article will attempt to identify ways of performing folk songs in the traditional context, and will investigate how to preserve these when performing them on the contemporary stage.
