The university management: difficulties in the performance of the post and needs of formation

There are different forms of University management that are determined by the interaction between the context and the actors. This study began with a process of selection of the sample in two phases; first by qualified informants and secondly according to criteria of diversity in terms of area of knowledge, level of management in which the activity of the interviewee, had place career in positions and the gender. 19 semi-structured interviews were conducted to people with different charge that two rectors, four Vice-Presidents, a Chief of the service of inspection, two Deans, a Vice Dean and a Secretary of faculty, included four Department Directors, two directors of research groups and two master directors. The instrument consists of five dimensions related to access to university management, training management, concerns the exercise of office and the impact and institutional difficulties arising out of the performance of the management learning. With regard to the results, there are aspects that determine the managerial management and are related, between others, to electoral offer, the motivation, the professional wear or the negotiation and resolution of conflicts. With respect to the conclusions stresses that access to university management is justified by multiple factors, professional and personal, being necessary to carry out an initial training. It is detected that the sense of belonging to the institution is one of the keys to the success of the Manager and there is a lack of protocols to follow at the University on the basis of the post play.
