BOTANICAL CHARACTERISTICS AND AGROTECHNOLOGICAL MODES OF GROWING INTRODUCED ROSE VARIETIES OF THE COLLECTION OF DEPARTMENT OF LANDSCAPE GARDENING OF UMAN NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF HORTICULTURE

Abstract

A literary review of the botanical characteristics, breeding and reproduction features of roses types and varieties of the genus Rosa L. in the conditions of the forest-steppe of Ukraine is presented. The general description of the collection of roses varieties on experimental sites of department of Landscape Gardening of Uman National University of Horticulture is given. According to the literary sources analyzed the main representatives of the genus Rosa L. and proven that growing demand for new varieties of various groups of roses in ornamental horticulture is due, first of all, with the necessity to create decorative varieties of this culture that will be resistant to diseases and adapted to the environment. That is why studying their biological and ecological characteristics of reproduction and cultivation in the conditions of the forest-steppe of Ukraine has an important practical importance for their use in landscaping landscaping of the territories in the future. A collection of varieties of various groups of roses was created and unified on the botanical sites of the Uman National University of Horticulture, which were introduced in different years of research
