The “Circuito Fora do Eixo” is a network of movements of activists and cultural producers that proposes alternatives for the circulation of independent artists across the country. Considering the public controversy around Fora do Eixo’s method, the research analyzes tensions in alternative cultural scene caused by the network performance. Therefore, from the perspective of Cultural History and Communication, the research conducted a documental analysis from a data set obtained with bibliographic research, open interviews and participant observation. The hypothesis is that the emphasis on self-promotion, spectacularization of its prominence and informality in labor relations ruled by alliances and political disputes are the main sources of controversies in an alternative market bound to professionalization.
