SPIRITUAL ORIGINS OF MAN OF CULTURE IMAGE: PSYCHOLOGICAL AND PEDAGOGICAL ASPECT
Abstract
The article defines the essential feature of the man of culture image in psychological and pedagogical context and clarifies the role of such factors as family, culture, education in formation of personality of a new type. The author comes to the conclusion that the image of modern man of culture is a system of ideas about man who has absorbed the cultural experience accumulated by the mankind and positively realizes its potential for life, following cultural values, humanity, spirituality in his beliefs and activities. The man of culture image is made up of the best socially significant qualities and properties, defined by scientists and humanitarians in the previous eras and those which are relevant in the modern world. The essential characteristics of human culture reflect the common views of the place and role of man in the world and culture, and include such personality traits as integrity, humanity, spirituality, morality, creativity, high psychological stability, adaptability, ability to self-regulation, self-reflection and self-correction. The man of culture image is a holistic and yet an open system, orienting person, who is free in terms of self-determination, to find ways for his improvement, creative development and spiritualization. The man of culture image is revealed through the concepts of family, culture, education (both education and self-education). The basic ideas about the man of culture image as an ideal, which man aspires to attain in his spiritual development, are based on the principles of natural and cultural conformity, spirituality, individualization and personality centeredness of this process. It is proved that the psychological and pedagogical potential of culture is aimed at the formation of personality with the developed spiritual needs for cognition and self-cognition, search for the meaning of life, the ideal of beauty in the world and the inner beauty of person; personality who is ready for the realization of his creative and spiritual possibilities in controversial circumstances and contexts of social life.
