PREPARACIÓN DE ELECTROCATALIZADORES DE ORO SOBRE TELA DE CARBONO PARA SU USO EN CELDAS DE COMBUSTIBLES
Abstract
In this work we present the results obtained from the spontaneous deposition of Au nanoparticles on activated carbon cloth (CCA). The preparation of electrocatalysts for fuel cells was performed by autocatalytic reduction techniques using HAuCl4 as precursor solution. The substrate was found to offer easy handling in its application. The inherent physicochemical heterogeneity of the substrate influences the activation process allowing an efficient Au deposition. The results obtained through Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and electrochemical characterization allow to determine that the technique of Au deposition on CCA has different characteristics compared to the traditional electrodeposition on a flat surface. Therefore, it is confirmed that metal deposition on a TCA electrode provides a simple and versatile technique to design a membrane electrode assembly (AEM).
