Highlights 1. Maintenance therapy extended PFS and OS of patients with NSCLC. 2. MT with targeted drugs significantly improved PFS compared with chemotherapy. 3. Longer duration of MT with chemotherapy or targeted drugs prolonged PFS. 4. Patients with adenocarcinomas and NSCLC without distant metastasis gained more OS benefits from MT. 5. Female sex and MT were independent prognostic factors for extended OS. 6. Patients with NSCLC tolerated MT without serious adverse events.
