The decreasing in the international production of the sisal´s fiber is reflected in the henequenian region as a reduction of the number of municipalites with henequen producers. This phenomenon was analysed by multivariate procedures. Three indicatives variables of the henequen production were taken into account (net production, yield and cultivation area) trough registered data during ten years. It was found that the Central Eastern zone shows more henquenian activities than the Peripherical zone. A second analysis was made in which some variables were combined with the production of this agave and those variables were related with non–henequenian agricultural activity. It was confirmed that, the Central– Eastern zone is henequenian and the peripherical one is dedicated to other different activities.
