Existential problems of identity in contemporary foreign gerontopsychology: results of the analysis of studies over the past five years

Abstract

The article presents the results of a theoretical analysis of contemporary foreign concepts about the existential problems of the personality of the elderly and senile ages. Taking into account the results of theoretical analysis, the article reveals the modern psychological theories and concepts of solving current existential problems by the aging persons, such as: the search for the meaning of their existence and the existence of mankind as a whole, the problem of freedom and responsibility for one's own life, an attitude towards death as an existential fact, experience of existential isolation.
