The soul of what we are: the organic view of the State in the populist discourse of Juan Domingo Perón
Abstract
The way populist movements and leaders manifest and emerge in Latin America does not arise from reasons rooted in our time, instead they evidence deep social structures and political dynamics that can be traced back to the early decades of the twentieth century. This article uses, as a reference point, the populist discourse of Juan Domingo Perón, founded on an organic conception of the State, which is present in the structure of the political projects of the current heads of state of nations under this form of government.
