Analytical solution for deep pressure tunnels using composite stratum under a groundwater table

Groundwater seepage forces probably act on lining when a deep tunnel in unfavorable geology is excavated under a high groundwater table. Serious water inrush consequently flows into tunnel and threaten the construction and operation safety of tunnel. To obtain analytical solution for deep pressure tunnels using composite stratum under a high groundwater table, the mathematical model is established based on the basic theory of hydraulics and seepage theory. The groundwater pressure is determined in different stratum by the theoretical derivation. The water pressure distribution under different water sealing efficiency and inflow of water have the same trend although the size effect of the model and the complexity of seepage will affect the results of numerical analysis. The analytical solution for deep pressure tunnel is verified by the numerical analysis. The analytical solution can be used for approximate groundwater pressure of lining in composite stratum under a high groundwater table.
