Introduction: The purpose of this study was to identify factors affecting information security management of libraries and information centers of Hamadan University of Medical Sciences.Method: This study was conducted with quantitative approach and analytical survey method. The statistical population of this study was all managers and librarians of libraries of Hamadan University of Medical Sciences in 2018. evaluation of Content validity of the questionnaire was performed by computing the Content validity Ratio (CVR) and content validity index (CVI). Cronbach's alpha coefficient was used to assess the overall reliability of the questionnaire. The normality of the studied variables was assessed by one-sample Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. Also, one-sample t-test and Friedman test were used to evaluate the hypotheses and rankings.Results: According to the results of the study, executive structures with a mean of 4.46 were in the first rank and with the most effect on the information security management system and human resources structure with a mean of 3.56 in the seventh rank and with the least effect. It is essential for senior managers to enhance security by identifying organization-related security objectives, establishing comprehensive and integrated management, striving to comply with security rules and standards, having adequate resources and budgets, and motivating librarians and informants. To make services more desirable and to take an effective step in enhancing academic productivity.Originality of work: This article was the result of an applied research and has not been published in any other magazine.
