Investigation of Change Process of Interior Equipment Elements of Housing Users with Different Socio-Economic Status (SES)

Abstract

In this study, it was aimed to investigate and determine how often and for what reason the users of different socio-economic Status (SES) want to change the indoor equipment in their houses. For this purpose, a totally 280 occupant participated in the questionnaire which was prepared considering three different SES groups, lower, middle and upper. The results were evaluated with SPSS program. According to the results, it was found that the average duration of the replacement of the interior equipment elements of the participants was between 6-10 years and the frequency of replacement of the elements decreased as the SES increased. In addition, when the reasons of the participants want to change the interior elements are examined; old, deteriorated/broken, aesthetic appearance, material quality, storage failure, measurement error, labor quality and lack of maintenance-service issues appear to come forward.
