The study was conducted in adult albino rats of either sex weighing 150-200 gms to assess the anti-ulcer property of Mccsa (AAB group "Nendran") unripe fruit in comparison with Famotidine The alcoholic extract of Musa (AAB group, "Nendran") unripe fruit produced dosedependent increase in anti-ulcer activity while healing effect produced by Musa powder are not dose dependent but the effects are comparable with Famotidine groups administered for 10 days and 20 days respectively. All the groups produced a significant decrease in ulcer index when compared with aspirin treated control group [CG (A)] and healing better than control group [CG (B)] for 10 days. The present study advocates the use of Mccsa powder and alcoholic extract as an effective anti-ulcer agent.
