An Effect of Different Factors on the Production of Mechanically Agitated Multiphase Biophase - Gas - Liquid Systems

Abstract

The effects of different factors on the production of mechanically agitated multiphase biophase-gas-liquid systems were experimentally studied. The following factors were taken into account: impeller speed n, gas flow rate Vg, type and number of the high speed impeller(s), height H of the fluid in the baffled vessel, sucrose concentration x and concentration c of the yeast suspension. Gas hold-up ? and residence time tR were evaluated graphically and mathematically.
