Faire le care malgré le cure ? Le devenir des sanatoriums entre isolement et proximité
Abstract
This article explores the rehabilitation of sanatoriums in rural areas through an interdisciplinary approach, focusing on the concepts of care and cure. By analyzing the cases of Aincourt, Bergesserin, and Montigny-en-Ostrevent, the study examines how these former medical facilities, once dedicated to the treatment of tuberculosis, are integrated into territorial development projects. The article discusses the challenges and opportunities related to the transformation of these historic sites, which can be abandoned, repurposed, or heritage-listed. It highlights the importance of preserving the memory of their sanitary past while adapting them to contemporary needs, thereby contributing to the revitalization of rural territories.
