Estimation of time effectiveness of a direction finder working on the basis of the searchless spectral method of dispersion-correlation direction-finding
Abstract
At present, in automated radio monitoring systems, direction-finding of radio-electronic means is carried out under conditions of a complex electromagnetic environment, a large uncertainty about the parameters of radio emissions, as well as real-time implementation. A promising direction for these conditions is the use of broadband correlation-interferometric radio direction finders using digital processing of the complex spectrum of the received mixture of radio emissions. The paper analyzes the analytical estimation of the total time costs of the radio direction finder, which works according to the search-free spectral method of dispersion-correlation radio direction. The dependence of the relative time efficiency on the bandwidth of the radio direction finder has been investigated. As a result of modeling for minimal hardware costs, when using a single-channel data processing system, it was determined that the investigated, direct method of real-time direction finding provides for the direction finding of radio emissions falling into the frequency band of simultaneous analysis with a possible width up to 250 MHz. Comparative analysis showed that the researched direction finding method has a high relative time efficiency, which is in 45 times higher than the known search digital spectral correlation-interferometric direction finding method. It is also determined that for the common search method of direction finding, a significant increase in the discretion estimate of the bearing decreases the accuracy of the direction finding by up to 1 degree, and the use of a multiprocessor processing scheme increases the cost of the direction finder. These researches are a continuation of work on the development of search-free spectral methods of correlation-interferometric direction finding.
