The authors of this paper are studying the contribution of social contents in the teaching of Nature and Society on the development of identity belonging of pupils of earlier school age of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija and the Republic of Serbia. Starting from psycho-physical development and capacities of pupils of earlier school age the contribution of social content was researched indirectly via the identification of the teacher's assessment. By the theoretical study of the researched problem it was determined undoubtedly importance of basic concepts on society and social relationships which had been involved in curricula and textbooks for the teaching of Nature and Society. Syllabus from the field of social sciences represents fundament and contributes the pupils to learn, realize correctly and understand basic social concepts, which will be useful to them for solving everyday life-related problems. Besides general importance for further study and everyday life, social contents in the teaching of Nature and Society contribute significantly to the development of feelings of identity belonging with pupils of earlier school age to Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija and the Republic of Serbia. These are contents relating to history and cultural heritage of the Republic of Serbia. Regarding empirical research we started from the general hypothesis that social contents in the teaching of Nature and Society significantly contribute to the development of the feeling of identity belonging to Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija and the Republic of Serbia with pupils of earlier school age. We also started from special hypotheses that this research will single out some components which determine identity belonging to Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija and the Republic of Serbia, and that there is no significant difference in the teacher's assessments on the contribution of social contents in the teaching of Nature and Society in the development of feeling of identity belonging to Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija and the Republic of Serbia with pupils of earlier school age. In order to determine that, in the first half of 2019 on the sample of 103 teachers of Pčinjski District a research shown in this paper was conducted. Data gather by Scalar - IPSANKandMPC (a = 0,812) were processed by factor analysis and the analysis of variance. Four components were singled out by factor's analysis which determined identity belonging of pupils of earlier school age to Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija and the Republic of Serbia: 1) identity, 2) territorial determination, 3) social belonging and 4) self-determination (KMO = 0,715, p = 0,000, ZV = 58,278%). By variance analysis it was determined there was a significant difference in the results of the three groups of teachers on the contribution of social contents in the teaching of Nature and Society in the development of identity belonging of pupils of earlier school age to Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija and the Republic of Serbia: F (1, 102) = 1,870, p = 0,160. Based on all results of this conducted research and critical analyses shown in this paper, a general conclusion, which is connected with general hypothesis is imposed, and which we started from that social contents in the teaching of Nature and Society contribute significantly to the development of feelings of identity belonging with pupils of earlier school age to Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija and the Republic of Serbia. In order to reach it in the future, it is necessary to enlarge syllabus of the teaching of Nature and Society in earlier classes of primary schools with social contents on Kosovo and Metohija which, besides knowledge acquisition on Kosovo and Metohija, would contribute to feelings development of identity belonging of pupils of earlier school age to Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija and wider to the Republic of Serbia. Earlier school age is the period of early start. At this age numerous disturbances and obstacles in learning and participation of pupils and their over average capacities are being identified. Development of the feeling of identity belonging in a timely manner to Serbian people and the Republic of Serbia is important for the development of patriotism with pupils, which is considered to be of crucial importance in today's circumstances in which the Republic of Serbia and especially the area of Kosovo and Metohia are found.
