Pengajian Umum: Mengimbau Wacana Awal Sebelum Tahun 2000 (General Studies in Retrospect: Early Discourse before Year 2000)

Abstract

In this issue, MALIM republished several selected articles from the publication of the Centre for General Studies in 1998, titled ‘General Studies: The Education of Man’ which was edited by Abdul Kadir Hj. Din and Mus Chairil Samani. ‘General Studies: The Education of Man’ is the first international conference proceeding on General Studies organized by the Centre for General Studies, UKM in 1998. A number of important matters regarding philosophy, subjects, and practices of general studies were discussed at the conference. This early discussion has established a fundamental importance in the development and advancement of general studies in UKM for the subsequent years. Therefore, it is necessary that early works underlying the present development are re-documented for future reference.
