What is the possible role played by academic literacy skills in the consolidation of educational reforms in Mexico? This article analyzes the case of a continuous professional development online course aimed to develop skills for preventing and reducing school violence. These skills were collaboratively developed through the production of academic texts in a virtual platform. A sample of essays and IMRD reports authored by twenty-six participants were analyzed, and ten participants were interviewed in depth about the texts and their experience in this course.
