Césaire lot koté la mèr : traversées indianocéaniques du Cahier
Abstract
Abstract : This article examines Indian Ocean rewritings of Césaire’s Cahier d’un retour au pays natal. Beyond a common linguistic heritage (French), this contribution will examine the variational and relational aspects of transoceanic rewritings of Césaire’s canonical text that dialogue with experiences of voluntary or forced exile. Through our selection of Reunionese and Mauritian texts published on the margins of the mainstream publishing market, our contribution further invites to a reflection on the (in)visibility of certain literary filiations.
