On Free Boundary and Interfacial Vibrations of Thin Elastic Semi-Infinite Plates with Free End

Abstract

Free planar and bending interfacial and boundary vibrations of semi infinite composed plates and plate strips are studied. Using the system of equations of the related classical theory of orthotropic plates, dispersion equations and asymptotic formulas for obtaining eigenfrequencies of interfacial and boundary vibrations of composed plates are derived. An asymptotic link is established between the dispersion equations of problems in hand and analogous problems for infinite composed plate and infinite plate strip, respectively.
