Using automatic control systems for the start of trucks upgrading motion
Abstract
Problem. Analysis and synthesis of information on the use of driver assistance systems when starting upgrading is a priority for further research in the field of brake control systems for heavy-duty vehicles. Aim. The aim of the work is to review in-formation on implementation of driver assistance systems when starting upgrading motion in the trucks of the leading car manufacturers. The material on historical prototypes of brake control systems at the car start was proposed as an introductory auxiliary material, the main material includes information on implementation of these systems by leading European truck automakers on various vehicles of their own production, in particular, the principle of operation of these systems was analyzed on the example of MAN, Mercedes, Iveco, and Scania, as well as the Kletterbremse brake installed on the loading plat-forms of the MAN concern. The scheme of the Hill Hold Control system is presented in general form and the additional data is given for more advanced coverage of the issue. Methods. The work is per-formed by the method of generalized informational search and includes the analysis of open information from various network resources, catalogs of au-tomakers and foreign bibliographic special sources. Results. The main result of this work is the systemati-zation and compilation of information on the main topic of the research related to the improvement of automatic brake control systems at the start, as well as an extended historical overview of the prototypes of the modern driver assistance system, including illustrative material. Scientific novelty. The prerequisites for the formation of the basis for further research of the brake control systems of trucks are determined; the analyzed data from the open sources indicate that the chosen direction is not sufficiently covered even in the specialized literature and requires additional research. Practical relevance. The results of the research can be used to expand the informative component of training courses for students of automotive specialties, since the article is an overview; and also for further generalization and systematization of information on this issue, taking into account the continuous development and improvement of automotive technologies.
