Baby boom: feminism in the key of comedy
Abstract
The paper analyses the film Baby Boom (Charles Shyer, 1987) from the perspective of feminist ideals it struggles to impart: criticism of an individualistic, competitive and androcentric lifestyle that ignores and makes invisible the care needs of the most vulnerable that all societies entail and therefore does not contribute to the real equality of women and men; and the proposal for a model of balance and complementarity between the productive and reproductive spheres.
