The history and development of penile prosthesis usage

Abstract

In this paper, we review the current knowledge about surgical procedures for prosthetic penis. Phalloprosthetic operation is the most effective method of reinstatement the function of the penis, in addition endoprosthetic of neofallos often performed in patients after reconstruction of the penis, with the aim of improving its rigidity. The article is devoted to the historical development of phalloprosthesis engineering, and also describes and analyzes the various methods of surgery used in their installation. Additionally in article disclosed the problem of postoperative complications and performed an analysis of the results of different authors.
