Research on Energy Efficiency and Resource Optimized Hyper-Cellular Mobile Communication System
Abstract
The development of wireless communication networks is now facing severe challenges from limited spectrum resources and stringent energy consumption constraints, which calls for system level theories and methods to efficiently utilizethe spectrum and energy. A novel hyper-cellular mobile communication architecture was proposed, which decoupled the control signaling coverage and traffic service coverage, so that network resources can be smoothly matched with traffic variations. Via the decoupled architecture, spectrum efficiency and energy efficiency can be jointly optimized, meeting the twofold requirements of high capacity and low power consumption for future mobile communications. The network energy efficiency theory, energy efficient transmission and network collaboration technologies, spatial-temporal traffic modeling and green wireless services were introduced, and the demo system of the hyper-cellular architecture was proposed.
