VIDA Y MUERTE EN LA CULTURA BOLAÑOS (Life and Death in the Bolaños Culture)

Abstract

Los entierros humanos dentro de una investigación arqueológica reflejan una de las costumbres más importantes de toda sociedad humana. A partir del análisis de los restos óseos de los individuos podemos conocer el sexo, la edad, el grado de salud, las enfermedades y las anomalías que dejaron huellas en los huesos; también permite estimar la nutrición y, en general, la calidad de vida de una población; en este caso, los individuos que habitaron el cañón de Bolaños. ENGLISH: Within archaeological research, human burials reflect one of the most important customs of any society. From the analysis of skeletal remains, we can determine an individual's sex, age, their degree of health, their diseases, and any anomalies that left traces in their bones. Analysis also allows for the estimation of the nutrition and, in general, the quality of life of a population; in this case, the individuals that inhabited the Bolaños canyon.
