Splenogonadal Fusion Operated as a Malignant Tumor
Abstract
AbstractSplenogonadal fusion is a rare congenital malformationwhereby the splenic tissue is found attached or surrounded bythe testis, and presents in both continuous and discontinuousforms. Splenogonadal fusion may be misinterpreted as a primarymalignant testicular or an adenomatoid tumor. Knowledgeabout the existence of such an entity is essential in orderto preserve the testis during surgical operation. We describe acase of splenogonadal fusion in a young man with bilateralnormal oriented scrotal testis.Iran J Med Sci 2010; 35(2): 157-159.
