Bilateral native knee septic arthritis due to Propionibacterium acnes; a case report and review of literature

Abstract

Abstract Propionibacterium acnes should be considered in any case of indolent septic arthritis. Cultures should be followed for 2 weeks as our cultures were negative for 7 days before growing P. acnes. Irrigation and debridement followed by antibiotics is the standard of care.
